Objective: Push the limits of headset communication. Who else could be on headsets? (Trainers? Backup QBs? Film?)
Action:
Add every coach, analyst, and manager to your trial account, then think of one or two extra helpers (trainers, film crew).
Create separate talk groups for offense, defense, special teams, and staff chat.
Get everybody on and see how it goes. Was it better? Easier? Worse?
Why it matters: Get comfortable with a different way of doing headset systems and communication. You no longer need to be restricted by how many ‘headsets’ you have. You can add/remove people quickly now.
2. Let Coaches Pick Their Own Hardware
Objective: The Headset App is hardware-agnostic. Try Airpods and earbuds for fall camp. Or test out a headset with a boom mic for even more added voice isolation.
Action:
Encourage each coach to bring the headset or earbuds they prefer.
Check comfort, mic clarity, and isolation during individual drills. Make sure everybody’s AI Voice Isolation toggle button is switched on.
Got an issue or two with hardware? Sometimes nicer earbuds and/or headsets let you download their app (e.g. BlueParrot) and you can take even more control of your hardware. Edit button settings, mutes, lift-to-mute etc. So get comfortable with them.
Why it matters: Coaches buy in when they control the gear on their heads. Plus there is some really good hardware technology out there already. Use it.
3. Explore the Settings Page
Objective: The Headset App is a dynamic tool. Make it fit your needs.
Action:
Add, rename, or delete channels to mirror your staff workflow.
Toggle voice isolation on and off while two coaches stand near a speaker playing crowd noise.
Even change the background or create a private channel for coaches only.
Why it matters: Customization makes the tool fit your scheme instead of the other way around.
